Community Outreach

Community Outreach has been a priority of Dumas Wesley for over 100 years. It serves the Crichton community, the boundaries of which are Florida Street to I-65, and Dauphin Street to Stone Container (Cotton Street), including Liberty Park. Through this program, all ages are served, from birth to death. Seventy-five percent of the population served is African American and 25% Caucasian/Other. Average annual income is $7,500 or less.

The purpose of our community outreach program is:

To provide direct daily contact with the Crichton neighborhood's low-income families
Providing a liaison between the community's citizens and governmental entities.
Monitoring senior citizens for emergency needs.
Provides an annual Christmas Toy Store to underprivileged families.

Emergency Funding for Utility Bills and Rent/Mortgage Payments -We are sorry we no longer will be offering Utility and Rental assistance.  You can call 211 on a home phone and contact a United Way agent who will be able to locate another agency who might be able to assist you.
