Dumas Wesley Daycare Center

Founded in 1903 to serve the children of mothers working in the cotton mill village of Crichton, Dumas Wesley Day Care Center is one of the oldest day care centers in the state, and has grown and evolved to meet the needs of modern day working families.

The day care center provides quality, licensed childcare for children ages 6 weeks to 14 years, from 6:30 a.m. until 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. A comprehensive educational program is offered that assists the child through his/her developmental stages.

A preplanned curriculum for each age group is provided. Assessments are completed on each child in the areas of fine motor, gross motor, cognitive, language and social growth and development. The children participate in a variety of field trips and hands-on activities. There are special visits from reading buddies (a collaboration with the Junior League and UMS-Wright School).
