Registration Dates:  April 22nd – June 7th

Eligibility Requirements:

• Parent/Guardian/Child must be a resident or employed in Crichton (36607 zip code)
• Must have proof of child’s age (birth certificate, blue card, etc)
• Must have proof of residence or employment (recent utility bill or recent paycheck stub)
• Child must be between the ages of 6-15

One Time Fee for the Entire 9 Week Program:  (All children must be living in the same household to be eligible for the $25.00 discount for each additional child.)

• 1 Child = $150.00
• 2 Children = $275.00
• 3 Children = $400.00
• 4 Children = $525.00
• 5 Children = $650.00

Additional Fees:

• T Shirt Fee $10.00 per child due at registration
• Field trip fees for each child (Paid on the day of each scheduled field trip)

Daily Schedule:  The summer program operates Monday – Friday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.  Children need to arrive on time every day.  Parents you must escort your children to the gym and check them in every morning.  Each child will be assigned to a group based on their age.  They will stay in that group for the remainder of the summer even if they have a birthday.  A weekly newsletter will go home with your child every Thursday.  This newsletter will inform you of activities, reminders and field trips for the following week.  The newsletter is extremely important and needs to be read carefully so that your child is prepared.  Lunch is not provided unless specified in the weekly newsletter.  Children need to bring a lunch every day.  If you have more than one child please pack separate lunches for each child because they may not eat at the same time or place.  No microwaves or refrigerators are provided to prepare or store lunches.  In the afternoon parents need to come inside the gym to pick up their children.  We will not allow children to go outside without a parent/guardian.  If you are running late please call our front office.  Late fees may be charges for parents who are routinely late.

Field Trips:  On days we have a field trip planned your child must arrive on time!  We will not hold the bus or come back to the center if you are late.  All children will be given their t shirt to wear on field trip days.  Dumas Wesley will wash all shirts at the end of the day.  Children will be able to take their shirts home at the end of the summer.  We do try to keep costs reasonable for each field trip.  Field trip money is due on the day a trip is planned.  Staff will collect the money in the morning when you sign your child in.  Please have exact change when possible.  If your child chooses not to attend the scheduled trip please make sure they stay home.  Unfortunately we do not have staff to watch children who do not want to go.  Parents are invited to attend as chaperons when space is available.

Neighborhood Bus Schedule:  For children who live in Crichton we provide transportation to and from DWCC free of charge.  In the morning the bus will leave DWCC at 8:30 AM to pick up the children.  Please make sure your child is waiting outside for the bus.  Our driver will not wait on anyone who is late.  In the afternoon the bus will leave DWCC at 2:45 PM to take the children home.  If your child will not be riding the bus in the morning or afternoon please contact staff as soon as possible so that we can tell the bus driver.  This will also help eliminate confusion as well as wasted gas.

2013 Camp Blue Lake

Registration is CLOSED

For many years children have enjoyed spending a week at camp in Andalusia, Alabama.  Dumas Wesley and Camp Blue Lake, a United Methodist Assembly offer children camp activities, swimming, hiking and camp fires as they make memories and friends that last a lifetime!  

Dates: June 3rd – June 7th – Campers will leave Dumas Wesley on the 3rd at 9:30 am and will not come back until June 7th around 12:00 noon.

3.0 Missional Intership (Quad) Leadership Program:  Welcome Ms. Kiara, Ms. Kaitlyn and Mr. Rolando who have been volunteering in our summer recreation program.

Government Street Presbyterian Urban Mission Group:  We will have several teenage groups throughout June and July volunteering in our clothing closet, working in our SAIL program and at the Village.  Each week different groups from all over the United States volunteers in Mobile serving the community.  Dumas Wesley has been blessed over the past several years as a recipient of this awesome ministry.
