Volunteers within the community also play a vital role at Dumas Wesley.  Students from Spring Hill College and the University of South Alabama have tutored and interned as youth workers for the After School Achievement program and Sybil H. The Junior League of Mobile sponsors the popular Youth Empowered Wednesdays for the children participating in the After School Achievement Program. A variety of exciting and educational programs are provided to strengthen and encourage children to believe in themselves and stay active and healthy.

Volunteers of all ages come from the Retired Senior Volunteers Program, Volunteer Mobile, local high schools and the community who assist with the clothing closet, food pantry and program needs at Dumas Wesley year-round.

Community Service Projects include The United Way of Southwest Alabama’s Annual Day of Caring, the University of Mobile’s Project Serve Day, and the University of South Alabama’s Martin Luther King Day of Service.  Dumas Wesley is very fortunate to be a part of these community service projects that bring dozens of volunteers to DWCC to landscape, wash vehicles, perform light maintenance.
