 Senior Transportation

The Dumas Wesley Seniors Program provides senior citizens in the Crichton area age 60 and over with dependable transportation to medical appointments.

The purpose of Dumas Wesley Senior Transportation is to provide Seniors 60 and older with transportation to medical appointments.  This service was implemented in March of 1994.

The purpose of the Transportation Program is to assist Seniors to and from doctors, hospital, and other health facilities.  Transportation is an on-demand service; 24 hours notice is required.  We only service certain zip codes in Mobile.  There is no set fee although donations are accepted, and Dumas Wesley does not service wheelchairs.  Our fleet consists of two small vans and two 15-passenger vans.

Hours of Operation:  Monday-Thursday 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  There is a 24 hour advance notice required to make an appointment.  In some areas clients are picked up as a group (South part of town).  There is a waiting period; no less than 30 minutes for return trips.  Due to the shortage of drivers and funding we can only service a limited amount of clients Monday thru Thursday.

Dumas Wesley recently received the “Spirit of Community” award from the nationally recognized Trumpet Awards.  The award is given annually by the Trumpet Awards Foundation, founded by Turner Broadcasting, to an organization that has made a significant contribution to improving the lives of others. The community center was chosen from 35 other nominees throughout the world. As part of the recognition, the center on July 8, 2008 received a 2008 GMC Savannah 15-passenger van from the General Motors Corp. The agency received $500 in gasoline gift cards and a full tank of gas.
