"Women Empowering Girls" Saturday, October 9th, 2010 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the DWCC Auditorium and Gym Sponsored by the Junior League of Mobile, this annual event is open to all teen girls ages 14-18. There will be speakers, classes on healthy body image, self-esteem, nutrition, and exercise, employment opportunities for teens, and other topics. There will be a luncheon with a special guest speaker, door prizes and goody bags. Last year over 65 young women attended, and our goal this year is to double the attendance.
==================================== "Life After High School" Wednesday, November 3rd, 2010 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the DWCC Auditorium, Gym & Atrium This event is for juniors and seniors who attend Murphy, Vigor, Williamson, LeFlore and Blount High Schools. Students will be transported from their school to Dumas Wesley, where they will have the opportunity to meet with representatives from colleges, trade schools, job training programs and the military. Free workshops on how to apply to college and for financial aid, employment skills and other topics. Parents, grandparents, and guardians are encouraged to attend.

======================================================== Annual Christmas Toy Store Saturday, December 4th, 2010 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon in the DWCC Auditorium Families residing in the 36607 zip code who provide evidence of need will have the opportunity to shop for new toys for their children, at 20% of the retail cost. Funds generated from the sale will be used to fund other neighborhood programs. Toy Store is limited to 75 pre-screened families. Annual "Walk for Families" Saturday, March 19th, 2011 Time: 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Location: DWCC We invite you to join us at the 22nd Annual Walk for Families, the major fundraiser for Dumas Wesley. Proceeds support the programs of Dumas Wesley. The walk includes a 2-mile and a 5 mile walk, silent auction, health fair, activities for children, and a hotdog lunch. Fun for all ages and groups.
