Become a Volunteer!

Dumas Wesley Community Center welcomes volunteers year round.  Aiding seniors, tutoring school-age children, facilitating the clothing closet, and volunteering at special events are just a few ways YOU can get involved.

How do I get started?  Dumas Wesley Community Center is a partner agency of The United Way of Southwest Alabama and all current volunteer opportunities can be found on their volunteer site Volunteer Connect.

Once I find an opportunity will someone contact me?  As soon as you express interest in an opportunity the Volunteer Coordinator will email you to discuss the opportunity you’ve chosen.

What if I decide I don’t like the opportunity? Can I find something else?  Volunteering is a self-less act and Dumas Wesley wants to make sure its a good fit for you.  If you find that you are no longer interested, available or want to try something else…no problem!

Do you have opportunities for large groups to volunteer?  In the past, Dumas Wesley has welcomed volunteer groups of all sizes.  College students, Civic organizations and church groups of all ages volunteer and we try to accommodate requests.  If there are no group volunteer tasks available on Volunteer Connect you can contact the Volunteer Coordinator directly.
