Senior Programs

The Dumas Wesley Community Center’s Senior Activities for Independent Living (S.A.I.L.) Program provides daily enrichment for seniors 60 and older. The program serves 77 low-income seniors, Monday – Friday from 9:00 A.M. – 12:00 Noon. Seniors enjoy fellowshipping over a hot lunch, and are provided activities that encourage healthy lifestyles that include: arts and crafts, games, nutrition and financial education, guest speakers, wellness checks, exercise and computer classes. Homebound meals to 46 senior citizens living in the Crichton and Toulminville neighborhoods are provided for registered participants. Transportation is offered for SAIL participants to and from the Center, as well as to vital services such as the bank and pharmacy, local shopping and health and wellness events.
